Joyless

When there is no joy in my life, it's because my love for Him has waxed cold. When I lack contentment, it's because I am embracing another god--self-love. "Thou shalt have no other gods before Me." Those things I want, those things I must have--be they tangible or intangible--have become my idol. "Little children, guard yourselves from idols." Don't let anything become a substitute for God and His loving and wise will for your life. When you find yourself empty and in need of God's strengthening joy to face your trials, those idols will be absolutely useless to help you. Useless.
