What did you do with the gift God gave you yesterday? What gift? November 21, 2020. I love this phrase from the Old Testament when God is speaking of the death of one of His loved ones: "he died satisfied, full of days."
Was your day another full day in His presence feasting on His goodness, love and mercy in your life? Mine began early with another pounding of rain on my roof accompanied by the moans and rattling of the limbs in the wind. Beautiful. Then, He gave me silent times to write on facebook, and by prayer to submit those words to Him to use to touch another life. Letters and notes--real mail and internet mail--to encourage me and lift my spirits flooded in. Lunch and conversation at the one place I know the food will taste good filled the afternoon with joy and laughter. Is there any greater gift than the presence of loving, caring friends? On the way home, on a whim, I tried Duck Donuts. Had never had them before and expected them to taste terrible, but I had to try, right? They were delicious! A miracle. No, a truly a miracle. Home--Brad dropped by. Great time with the oldest of my beloved sons getting some things ready, talking about baseball, listening. And Ben said he's going to drop by later today. Finally, an evening of reading, praying, listening to music as the darkness fell and the last of the Cardinals flew off into the trees--they will be back for breakfast. Yes, He filled my day with a deep sense of His presence! May He continue to strengthen me for each day He gives me, give me eyes to see His marvelous providence in each moment, and immerse me in the joy of another day. May I go to see Him having lived a life full of full days.
