As someone has said, "The devil's biggest lie is that there are no consequences." it's a lie he first presented in the Garden: "You won't die." You reap what you sow--good for good, evil for evil--is a law of God's universe. God will forgive anything I do, but that does not eliminate consequences in this life. I have never made a choice without experiencing consequences. Sadly, the negative consequences are shared by those who love me the most--or they joyfully share in God's blessings on my good choices. God even warns me that my choices may impact the lives of those three of four generations down the road. (How I respond to finding myself so impacted is another devotional--see Daniel.) The devil has always wanted us to believe that God can't or won't hold us accountable for the choices we make. Choose wisely and prayerfully.
