God in My Life

The omniscience of God assures me that His plans for my life are designed that I might glorify Him in the midst of each day.
The omnipotence of God assures me that I can do all the things that He calls me to because He is my strength.
The omnipresence of God assures me that whatever He calls me to, He will be with me.
The immutability of God assures me that His promises are sure, reliable, His faithfulness unwavering.
The mercy of God assures me that He will pursue me with His love even when I am faithless.
The grace of God assures me that when I am flat on my face in failure that I am more than a conqueror through Him and His love for me.
The loyal lovingkindness of God assures me that I need not fear what man can do to me--He is on my side.
The peace of God assures me that in the midst of the storm my house will stand--guarded by His care for me.
The joy of God assures me that in those most difficult times of sorrow, I will sense His presence, His weeping with me, and be strengthened by the joy that endured the cross in order to finish what He was called--sent--to accomplish.
The eternality--the everlastingness-- of God assures me forever and forever I am His and He is mine.

Tomorrow

When I graduated from high school way back in pre-historic times--well, my history had only a page or two--I could never have envisioned the journey ahead of me. If you had asked me to draw you a "map" of where I was going, it would have had very little correlation to the roads I have traveled and to the places I have stopped and lingered for awhile along the way. Prophetic it would not have been. In fact, to be perfectly honest, I don't know for sure what my tomorrow will... bring; though, maybe, I could get a few things right. Maybe.
But there are some things I have discovered on my journey that I know will still be true tomorrow wherever I find myself:
It will be a day worthy of rejocing.
He will be with me each and every step that I take.
He will provide the strength that I need for whatever I face.
His grace will be sufficient.
If I trust and obey, it will be a day of rest.
My prayers will enrich His throne room.
He will bless me tomorrow with blessings that I do not deserve.
The world I will live in will be beautiful--majestic.
Family and friends will be a source of joy and encouragement.
As I continue to learn to be content, the peace of God that fills the soul will be beyond my understanding--but undeniably present.
I will be one day closer to going Home. He will be one day closer to returning. (I would not complain if those two days became the same day.)
Nothing, noone, will be able to separate me from His love.
Those I love will be in better, more loving Hands than mine. Omnipotent Hands.
I will sing, "It is enough that Jesus died, and that He died for me."

Reflections for April 2018

God forgives you.  Other people may not.  That doesn't mean you haven't been forgiven.  Embrace it--forgive yourself.  Let His grace and mercy empower you for today's assignment.
__________

God's purpose--and He's committed to it--is to transform you into His likeness.  It's going to take awhile I imagine.  Patiently submit to His work in your life.  What is His work in your life?  Everything that's going on.
__________

Why is it happening?  Because the God of infinite wisdom and unfailing love is at work for your good, for the good of His Bride--the church, for His glory this day and for all eternity.
__________

The cross declares God's deep desire to forgive and His deep desire to spend eternity with you.
__________

"Honor all men."  What would the discourse in our country be like if we just took that one commandment to heart?  And, yes, "all" means "all."  Every man and woman bears the image of God.
__________

"The man who spends too much is a robber."  (Ambrose)

Once More

The sun came up today:

Once more God declared His glory, displayed His handiwork, revealed His divine nature, his eternal power. Once more each and every man is left without an excuse for not seeking Him.

Once more He declares that He has work to do today. He is going to use men to do His work--wants to use you to be His hands and feet and voice.

Once more He declares that He is in control. All things endure because He is holding them together by His sustaining power.

Once more the hearts of the kings are in His hands--even their wrath will be used to priase Him.

Once more He gives you reason to rejoice at this gift He has given you--this day He has made for your gladness.

Once more He "erases" a day from His calender--He moves one day closer to His return, stimulates our love for His appearing.

He is the King of Kings each and every day.

Surety

His love is sure: He died in my place--took upon Himself willingly all the suffering and wrath I deserve--physically, emotionally, spiritually. And to day and every day for all eternity He intercedes on my behalf before the Father.
His power is sure: The tomb is empty. He slew death forever. He defeated Satan forever.
His patience is sure: He continues to wait in order to bring others into His fold--to enlarge the family of the redeemed.
His grace is sure: He continue...s to use us with all of our flaws to do His work--to be the lights that glorify the Father.
His mercy is sure: Each day He continues to put up with me.
His victory is sure: He is coming again--in power and great glory: King of Kings. Lord of Lords. The Lamb that was slain.
