"The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want."
I am thankful that every moment of every day, I am under the watchful
eye of the Good Shepherd, my Good Shepherd. I am thankful that He is
the God of my present tense, of all my todays. And I am thankful that
the Good Shepherd is also the Lion of the tribe of Judah. I need fear
no enemy today. I will lack nothing that I need, and I will long for
nothing that He has not already given me.
"He leads me."
I am thankful that my Shepherd is the God of my tomorrows. He goes
before me. And His purposes: to nourish me, to restore my broken and
crushed--devastated--soul whenever it needs it, to use me to glorify His
Name, to be my comforter in times of sorrow, to help me to face my
worst fears, to vindicate me, to fill my cup of blessing to overflowing.
Those are the plans He has for me as He whispers, "follow me into all
of your tomorrows. I will not take you anywhere I have not already
been--and emerged victorious. We will be overcomers together. Just
follow Me." "Anywhere with Jesus I can safely go. Anywhere!
Anywhere!"
"His goodness and mercy they follow me."
I am
thankful that my Shepherd is the God of my yesterdays. No matter what I
have left behind me, He is bathing it in His goodness and His mercy.
When one day I stand before Him and look at my past, all I will see is
what His goodness and His mercy have transformed it into being.
"Beautiful in His time."
"And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
I am thankful that all of my todays, my tomorrows, and my yesterdays
are but a moment of the eternity I will spend in my Shepherd's house,
under His loving care.
"Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! Come into His presence with singing! His lovingkindness endures forever"!
