Where
I am in time is exactly where God intends for me to be. And He planned
for me to be here before the foundation of the world. I am not in
Morrow County, Ohio, in 2012, by accident or coincidence. I am here
today because this is exactly where God needs me in His plan. I have a
purpose.
That truth should revolutionize my thinking--and thus revolutionize my life. What purpose does God have for
me? Who I am becomes just as important as where I am, if not more so.
Paul cried out to the Philippians that he was striving to make sure
that He found--and fulfilled--the reason why God had chosen him. His
life and choices were not irrelevant. They were significant; they were
vital to God's eternal plan. So it is with each one of us. I don't
have much time and what I do have must be used soberly for the glory of
God. I must redeem the time. I must pay whatever the cost may be to do
His will on a daily basis. The most dangerous view I can take of my
life is that it really doesn't matter what I do. Nothing could be
further from the truth. As the beloved of God, I must strive through
the power of the Holy Spirit to be all He intends for me to be in Ohio,
in the year 2013, in the United States of America as a man, a neighbor, a
teacher, a father, a son, as a new creation in Christ. Anything else
is a waste of time.
