Obligation

We must not serve God with the attitude that He is then obligated to do things for us. Instead, we must serve Him with an attitude of gratitude for what He has already done for us with the gift of His Son. Otherwise, service for God becomes the enemy of a deeper relationship with God. Duty--drudgery--always destroys the joy of intimacy.
