How
often I forget that the only day I have is today. It is when I try to
take on the burdens of all my tomorrows--my future--that I become
overwhelmed with worry and frustration. Jesus tried to warn us of that
mindset. He told His disciples that there was enough evil in today
without their borrowing on the evil that may or may not come tomorrow.
And in His Word He promises us all the strength
we need for today. Whatever I need today, He will provide. When I
develop the spiritual view of events, the view that I must glorify Him
one day at a time, the struggles of life lose their power to overwhelm
me. How could any struggle I face today be deeper than His provision?
"Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father takes care of them. Are you not worth much more than they?"
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."
"I can do all things through Christ who strengths me."
"And my God shall supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory."
