I don't know
about you, but conflict is not one of those things high on my prayer
list. I can't remember the last time I asked God to send me a few
problems because life was so boring without them. Actually, as you well
know, we have to grapple with a variety of problems every day--whether
we want them or not. Conflicts are here to stay.
Which brings me to one of the scariest verses in the Bible--Ephesians 6:12. "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." That's right. You and I are in conflict with supernatural evil forces. What do you think the odds are that we can lick them by ourselves? Not too good? Oh, come on, just because they're more powerful than we are, more intelligent than we are, and invisible--I mean, what does that have to do with it?
But then there's the other side: "Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world." "We are more than conquerors through Him that loved us." "I will never leave you or forsake you." "Resist the devil and he will flee from you." "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
How does it feel to be a winner?
