Under No Obligation
One
of the lessons in the book of Job that we struggle with is that God is
not obligated to explain to us what He's up to in our lives. My ego
always imagines that I deserve to know, that He actually should be
talking to me BEFORE He does anything. I assume that I'm His counselor
and that He needs my input to get it right. The tragedy that occurs is
that I then define God by looking at my circumstances
instead of looking at my circumstances through the truth of who God has
revealed Himself to be. The end result? A total loss of peace, the
absence of joy, a complaining spirit--and man, is that contagious, and a
doubting of His love for me. Talk about a miserable walk. And God is
still going to do what He KNOWS is best for my life. "Trust in the Lord
with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all
your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." And
it will be in His perfect timing.
