It is
a wise statement: "Be unsure of yourself and sure of God." At the
same time, we should always base our decisions on what we know to be
true for sure. Those immutable truths can guide us into wise
decision-making and into effective prayer. What are the "for sure"
things you use to make your decisions? Here are a few of mine:
God loves my children even more than I do and wants His best for them. And is actively involved in enacting His plan.
The most important relationship the people I love need to maintain is a right relationship with Him--not me.
No decision of mine can lessen one iota God's love for me.
I cannot walk the Christian walk alone. I need other Christians.
Maturity has nothing to do with age; a mature person knows the meaning of consequences--and that they are rarely immediate.
Any act of obedience is an act of love.
There is nothing more extraordinary than the ordinary.
My spiritual struggles--even those that are a result of God's
discipline for my disobedience--are evidence that God is lovingly
working in my life to bring me to maturity.
Wickedness takes over a person's life gradually--it starts with little things.
Those who truly understand Christian liberty are more than willing to
give up all of theirs for the sake of others and their walk with God.
If my application of a spiritual principle violates an absolute truth, the application is wrong.
My ministry of grace is to make the invisible God visible every moment of my life--"full of grace and truth."
When I recognize and admit my weaknesses, I will be empowered by God to be strong.
Admitting my sin is never a substitute for quitting my sin.
The difference between a life of gladness and a life of discontent is a thankful heart toward God.
When it's all over, God wins. Grace triumphs. The redeemed will be delivered from the penalty, power, and presence of sin.
Every decision I make affects my relationship with Him.
It helps, I think, from time to time, to go over some of those truths
that God has taught you. It sure makes decision making easier.
