Imagination:
I would have loved to listen in on the conversation when the search
parties returned from looking for Enoch and came to the conclusion that
"God must have taken him. You know how much he pleased God." Think
Enoch had a testimony?
I would have loved to have seen the look on
Darius' face when he called out to Daniel in the lion's den--and Daniel
answered. And isn't it interesting that
Daniel was the second most powerful man in the Persian Empire and they
called him "the servant of the living God." Not a great advertisement
for their dead gods.
I would have loved to have seen the look on
Naman's face when the king said, "Great idea. Go and do all that for
Mordecai!" "God resists the proud." You had best believe it.
I
would have loved to have seen the look on the widow's face when Jesus
walked up to the coffin and told her son to get up. And he did. And I
wonder what the lad said when he sat up? Do you think he has any
descendants still around today? We have no idea what God is up to, do
we? Except that it's for good.
I would have loved to have talked to
the Philippian jailer after his church read the letter Paul had sent
them--from a prison in Rome. And wouldn't you have loved to have heard
Paul and Silas singing that duet in their prison cell? In a "prison
cell"? Try singing!
I wonder what Nero thought when he found out
that some of his elite soldiers--the best of the best--were becoming
Christians. Our God is a seeking God.
Sorry--sometimes I just wonder.
