There is nothing more dynamic than small things. They are the TNT of effective Christian living:
A verse memorized
A simple thank you
A note of encouragement
A touch on the arm
A door held open
A "Hello, how are you?"
A smile to someone passing by
A peppermint candy
A shared laugh
A quick intercessory prayer
An "I'm sorry"
A moment of listening
A telephone call
A letter home--even if all it says is "I love you"
An untraceable gift
A word of praise
A single tear of shared joys or sorrows.
All these small things express the infinite, personal, caring, genuine, spontaneous love of the sovereign God of the universe for His children. And those who know they are loved by God do not fear the storms, obey from hearts of love, endure all things with joy, and never miss an opportunity to pass on small things. Yes, the omnipotent love of God comes in small packages, but once they are "unwrapped," they fill the world with the fragrance of His presence.
