Taking Sides
Too
often I get it backward. The question is not "whose side is the Lord
on"? No, the battle is the Lord's. The question is "who is on the
Lord's side"? And that leads to the acceptance of a truth that cancels
out my spiritual pride, and, man, is that painful. (Who doesn't like to
rely on "boot-strap" Christianity and pat themselves on the back--or
encourage others to do so?) The truth? "Not to the strong is the
battle; not to the swift is the race. But to the true and the faithful
victory is promised through grace." "Without Me, you can do nothing."
