The Worst Idol

Yes, there are a lot of idols in the United States today: materialism, political power, sex--whatever it is we covet. But when I'm honest, my biggest struggle is with the idol of Al Iten. I always think and act as if I am the center of the universe, and I can't believe that everyone--even God--doesn't think of me and want to treat me that way. Don't they know it's all about me? Idolatry in my mirror. "God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble." Lord, keep that thought ever in my heart. "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he."
