Remember
in the Garden of Gethsemane when Jesus asked the priests and soldiers
who they were looking for? And they said "Jesus of Nazareth"? And when
He replied "I Am" they all fell down on the ground before Him. I
wonder what they were thinking when they struggled to their feet. And
then when Jesus healed the servant's ear and told Peter to put away his
sword because if He wanted to, "He could
call legions of angels to come to His defense." I wonder as they were
still dusting off their clothes and heard Him say that if they weren't
just a little nervous? And then He allowed them to arrest Him--meekly.
I doubt if any of them ever forgot those moments. They had to know it
was His choice and not theirs.
One day He will come again with His
angels. And every knee will bow. And confess that He is Lord. To the
glory of God the Father. Blessed are those who love the promise of His
appearing. And eagerly wait for it. "Even so, come Lord Jesus."
