The
gospel we take into the spiritual warfare is the gospel of peace. Did
you ever consider peace to be an essential weapon of war? It
is--spiritually. When we can rest in the assurance that the battle has
already been won--in God's promise that no matter how difficult the
battle, victory is assured, we will be at peace. Earthquake proof. In
Christ we have a peace that should never be disturbed,
unshakeable. There should never be a hint of panic, never a doubt of
despair, never a thought of failure, for we walk with our feet shod in
the gospel of peace. It has garrisoned, fortified our hearts and minds.
We can continue to love right and think right regardless of the
situation in which we find ourselves, regardless of the reality the
devil tries to foist upon us.
If the devil can destroy our peace,
he'll have us knocked off our feet, at least off balance, for certain,
poor warriors in the spiritual battle. If the devil can destroy our
peace, he'll have us hobbling--lame and weary--on the crutches of
failure and frustration. We must rest in His peace. "My peace I give
to you. Not like the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart
be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me." "I will never
leave you nor forsake you." Standing in the assurance of God's promise
and presence--in the assurance that the battle has already been
won--that's peace with God. That's a powerful weapon in the struggle
with Satan and sin. That's a gospel that will attract a peaceless
world.
"Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."
"We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us."
